A new community food project in West Hamilton

A new community project I’m starting this year is called the West Hamilton Produce Cooperative and it’s a way for backyard veggie gardeners to share their surplus garden produce with other local gardeners and receive some of the tasty treats from other people’s gardens. This model has been used with huge success in the southern U.S. The woman who started the original co-op there two years ago now has over 200 members (you can check out their group at www.hillsideproducecooperative.org ).

Our Hamilton group already has about twenty enthusiastic members (including some from the Victoria and Churchill community gardens), and of course we’d love to have more! See the attached flyer, plus there is more info at http://westhamiltonproducecooperative.blogspot.com.

Our first exchange will be this Saturday, June 25, and we welcome new members to join us at any point throughout the growing season. Email inquiries can be directed to westhamiltonproducecooperative@gmail.com.
