A stirring and heartfelt documentary about Polish heroine Irena Sendler and her wartime conspiracy of women, some barely out of their teens, who outfoxed the Nazis and saved the lives of thousands of Jewish children. They were smuggled out in toolboxes, bags, through sewers and secret passages, and then placed with Polish families and in convents. The Hamilton Jewish Federation is thrilled to announce the University of Southern California Shoah Testimonies have come to McMaster University.  An evening with special guest Branko Lustig–Oscar-winning producer of Schindler’s List, Holocaust survivor, and one of the founding figures of the USC Shoah Foundation Institute–for the launch of the first Canadian repository of the USC Shoah Foundation Institute‚s Visual History Archive.  One of the largest archives of its kind in the world, with nearly 52,000 video testimonies of Holocaust survivors and other witnesses, at McMaster University. Author David Kattenburg reading and discussing his latest non-fiction book, Foxy Lady:  Truth, Memory and the Death of Western Yachtsmen in Democratic Kampchea.  The books tells the story of the passengers on a yacht called Foxy Lady, which strayed into the waters of Cambodia in 1978.  On board were several free-spirited explorers, including a young Canadian, all of whom became victims of the Khmer Rouge.  Westdale Library.
