Call for Applications for the Ward 1 2014 Participatory Budgeting Advisory Committee

You are invited to apply to become a member of the Ward 1 Participatory Budgeting Advisory Committee (PBAC) to advise Councillor McHattie on how Area Rating Dollars should be spent in Ward 1.  The Committee is made up of twenty (20) membersThe number of vacancies hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there are at least 7 and possibly more.

If you are interested in applying to sit on the PBAC, please complete and submit an application by January 27 (attached).  An interview process will follow in early February, once all applications have been submitted. Meetings will start towards the end of February and will tentatively finish before the summer.

Please forward this to your neighbours and Ward 1 friends. We are trying to reach as many Ward 1 residents as possible.

Community Meeting to Announce Participatory Budgeting Projects

The Participatory Budgeting Advisory Committee (PBAC) invites Ward 1 Residents to a public meeting for the announcement of the 2014 participatory budgeting projects.  The PBAC team will discuss the process, the voting results and the final recommendation.  They will also be available to answer questions about next year’s process.

Churchill Park Clubhouse Board Minutes – January 7 2014

Please find attached the meeting minutes, including action items, from our most recent board meeting (Tuesday, Jan. 7).

Please note that there are still spaces available for participation on the board, including voting members. We’d love to have a full complement on this community board! If you could share this with your friends and neighbours it would be appreciated. Interested community members should contact one of the executive members (Ira Rosen at
irosen@cogeco.ca , Jim Steep at james.steep@gmail.com , or me at marieverdun@icloud.com ). The time commitment is one monthly board meeting of 90 minutes as well as potential for participation in subcommittee(s). The term is one year.

In addition, anyone is welcome to attend the board meetings. If there is an item that the attendee wishes to add to the agenda for discussion, please contact one of the executive prior to the meeting.

The next two meetings will be held at Dalewood Recreation Centre. They are Tuesday, Feb. 4, and Tuesday, March 4, 7:00-8:30 p.m.

I will circulate the next meeting’s agenda when it is finalized.
